Child Safety Standards

1. Our commitment

Chess Baithak has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. We prohibit it in our terms, we build the product to make it harder, we act on every report, and we report confirmed material and conduct to the relevant authorities.

These standards apply to everything on the platform: profiles, names, photographs, biographies, match notes, messages, feedback and conduct at in-person meetups arranged through the app.

2. What is prohibited

The following are banned outright. There is no warning step and no second chance; accounts are removed on confirmation.

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any visual depiction of a minor in a sexually explicit context, in any form, including drawn, animated or computer-generated imagery.
• Grooming — building a relationship with a minor to enable sexual abuse, including flattery, gifts, isolation from family, or moving a conversation to a private channel.
• Sextortion — threatening to publish intimate imagery of a minor to extract further imagery, money or compliance.
• Sexualisation of minors — sexual commentary about a child, or presenting a child in a sexualised manner.
• Trafficking or solicitation — advertising, seeking or arranging sexual contact with a minor.
• Using the platform to make contact with a minor for any of the above, including arranging a match as a pretext to meet a child.

We also prohibit off-platform conduct of this kind where it comes to our attention and involves someone we can identify on Chess Baithak.

3. Minimum age

Chess Baithak is for players aged 18 and over. Every account passes an age check at sign-up, and accounts we find to belong to someone under 18 are removed.

We are aware that an age gate is a floor rather than a guarantee. It is one control among several, not the whole of our child safety posture, and we treat any report that an account belongs to a minor as a priority regardless of what the account claims.

4. How to report a concern

Reporting is available to every user, from inside the app and from this page.

In the app

Open the profile or match in question, choose Report, and select Child safety. Add whatever detail you can. Reports are confidential: the person you report is never told who reported them.

You can also Block anyone at any time, with or without filing a report. Blocking is immediate, private and needs no explanation — a blocked player cannot see you in search, cannot see your matches, and cannot contact or challenge you.

Write to childsafety@chessbhaitak.com. This inbox is monitored and reaches our designated child safety point of contact. You do not need a Chess Baithak account to use it, and you may report anonymously.

What helps

• The player's name or profile link, and the match if there was one
• What happened, and roughly when
• Screenshots, if you have them and it is safe to keep them

5. How we respond

Child safety reports jump the queue ahead of every other report type and page a human on arrival rather than waiting for someone to check a dashboard.

The reporter is told that their report was received and closed. They are not told what action was taken against the other account: outcomes are confidential to the person concerned, and disclosing them would make reporting a way to probe another user's standing.

We preserve the associated records even if either account is subsequently deleted, so that deleting an account cannot erase a complaint or destroy evidence.

6. Reporting to authorities

We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us and report to the relevant regional and national authorities.

• Pakistan — the FIA Cyber Crime Wing, under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (s.22, child pornography) and the Pakistan Penal Code (s.292B–292C).
• Internationally — the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), via its CyberTipline, where apparent CSAM is identified.
• Local police, where there is a credible and immediate threat to a specific child.

We preserve relevant account data, content and logs when we make such a report, and we respond to lawful requests from these bodies. We do not notify the reported account when doing so would prejudice an investigation or endanger a child.

7. Prevention measures

• Adults only, with an age check at sign-up and removal of under-18 accounts.
• Identity is withheld until a seat is confirmed. Names and photographs are not revealed to another player until a host accepts them, so browsing the app does not hand a stranger a directory of people to approach.
• Public venues. Matches are arranged at public sit-in spots — parks, cafés, clubs — not private addresses.
• Blocking that works in both directions and cannot be detected by the person blocked.
• Reporting in one tap from any profile or match, with child safety as a distinct, prioritised category.
• Retained records that survive account deletion, so a report cannot be erased by the account it concerns.
• Staff practice. The people who review these reports are briefed on handling CSAE material lawfully and on escalating rather than investigating themselves.

We acknowledge child safety correspondence within 24 hours. For anything involving immediate danger to a child, contact the police first on 15.
