1. Delete in the app
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
- Open Chess Baithak and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation, then tap Delete permanently.
You are signed out as soon as the deletion completes. There is no grace period and no way to undo it — if you sign in again afterwards you will be creating a brand-new account.
2. Delete by email
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us and we will delete the account for you.

Include: the email address or phone number linked to your account, so we can identify it.
Send the request from the email address on the account where you can. If you cannot, we will ask you a small number of questions to confirm the account is yours before deleting anything — we will not delete an account on an unverified request, because doing so would let anyone close your account for you.
3. What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently erases:
- Your profile — name, age, gender, occupation, city and area, photo and bio
- Your contact details — email address, phone number, WhatsApp number and Instagram handle
- Your approximate location, and the availability slots and preferred spots you saved
- Your pending and past match requests
- Your check-in records
- Ratings and written feedback that other players left about you
- Your sign-in credentials, so the account can no longer be used to log in
4. What is kept, and why
Three things outlive the account, in a form that is no longer linked to you.
- Games you played. A match is shared history — it is half your opponent's record. We keep the match itself so their game history and rating stay correct, with your name and profile removed from it. Where your name appeared, the app shows “Deleted player”.
- Ratings you gave others. The score you left an opponent continues to count towards their rating, with your identity stripped from it. Removing it would silently change ratings that other players earned.
- Spots you added to the map. Public places to play stay on the map for everyone, without attribution.
None of these retain your name, contact details or any identifier that points back to you, and none of them can be used to reconstruct your account.
Separately, we may keep a minimal record that a deletion request was made and honoured, where we need it to show we complied with data-protection law. It contains no profile data.
5. How long it takes
- In-app deletion — immediate. Your data is gone from our live systems before the confirmation screen closes.
- Email requests — we action these within 30 days, and normally much sooner. We will confirm by email once it is done.
- Encrypted backups — purged of your data within 90 days. Backups are never used to restore a deleted account.
